A business plan is created mainly for investment of small and even very small scale, usually carried out in the private sector. The main recipient of business plans are commercial banks. The aim of business plan development is to attract investment credit, less often - a grant or funds from private investors (i.e., the private equity investment).
- Feasibility Study - a document prepared for an existing or planned projects for most comprehensive description of the circumstances of the project. It applies generally to larger projects in infrastructure, municipal economy, culture – and often has a public nature. Distinctive feature of the study is its extensive structure. Recipients of the study are mostly government agencies or institutions associated with them, and its most common purpose is to gain subsidies such as, for example, state and EU funds.
- Investment Memorandum - a document designed to interest potential investors in an idea for an investment or to encourage investment in existing venture. The main recipients of the memorandum are private sector investors, while most frequent aim for the memorandum is to attract funds from private investor(s).
